BEFORE YOUR SEA DAY

Nusa Lembongan snorkelling FAQs

Trip planning, family questions and booking conditions in one place.

The trip and marine life

Will we see manta rays?

Manta rays are wild animals, so sightings are never guaranteed. Your crew will choose locations with current sea and weather conditions in mind.

How long is the Manta & Reef trip?

The trip departs every morning at 8:00 am Bali time and lasts around 3–4.5 hours. Timing can vary with sea conditions and the route.

How many places will we snorkel?

The usual route visits Manta Bay, Crystal Bay and Mangrove. If there are few or no manta rays at Manta Bay, the captain may replace Manta Bay with Manta Point, if sea conditions allow. Manta Point is an alternative stop, rather than a fourth location. Locations may change and sightings are never guaranteed.

Are specific snorkelling spots guaranteed?

No. The Manta & Reef trip typically visits three locations chosen according to sea conditions. The route may change, including whether a manta location is suitable.

When is the best time to see mantas?

No date or departure time guarantees a sighting. Ask about current conditions close to your trip date and choose the trip for the overall reef and ocean experience as well as the possibility of mantas.

How should we behave around mantas and coral?

Observe wildlife without touching, feeding or chasing it. Avoid standing on coral and keep fins clear of the reef. Follow the crew’s briefing and leave room for animals to move naturally.
