Is Nusa Lembongan snorkelling suitable for families?

There is no single answer for every family. Your children’s experience in the water, the support available on the trip and the conditions on the day all matter. For regular and private trips, children require adult supervision; no fixed adult-to-child ratio is specified. Infants may join, but this is not recommended. A private boat is the preferred option for groups with infants or children. Minimum-age bands, child fares and non-snorkelling passenger fares still need confirmation. Non-swimmers are not recommended.

Questions to ask about a family snorkelling trip

Ask about child-sized equipment, flotation options, who supervises children in the water, group support and whether a guest can remain aboard. Confirm what happens if conditions or a particular location are unsuitable. Child and adult sizes of masks, fins and lifejackets are available on regular and private trips. Lifejackets are available but wearing one is not mandatory. A guide enters the water while the captain stays aboard; the boat has one captain and one guide. The captain gives a safety briefing. Guest insurance is not included. Boarding is from the beach. Tell reservations about any mobility or boarding concerns before booking; step-free access and individual suitability have not been confirmed. The Bali day trip uses a separate partner; confirm their child equipment, supervision and support arrangements before booking.

Plan around the day’s conditions

The Manta & Reef trip is planned for around 3–4.5 hours, normally visiting Manta Bay, Crystal Bay and Mangrove subject to conditions. Manta Point may replace Manta Bay. A location list is not a promise: the crew may change the route. Manta rays are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Coming from Bali with the family?

Consider the whole day, including the crossing and time travelling to and from the boat. The Bali day trip is a full day: hotel pickup around 7:00–7:45 am, the planned 9:30 am ferry from Sanur and 4:00 pm ferry back. The hotel transfer from Sanur begins around 5:00 pm; hotel arrival depends on location and traffic. Confirm your exact pickup and discuss suitability before arranging tightly connected travel.

Family prices

The listed prices are IDR 350,000 ≈ A$29 / person for the Lembongan trip and IDR 1,200,000 ≈ A$97 / person for the Bali day trip. Child discounts or a separate child rate have not been confirmed. Ask for a written quote for your family.
